Livestock Continued....
Sheep

Sheep are the most dominant small ruminant in most developing countries, and are mostly used for meat production. The main objective of genetic improvement programmes is to increase meat output by enhancing fertility and increasing multiple birth rate in the dams and growth rate and survival in the progeny.

Goats

Goats are the second most important small ruminants in most developing countries. They are mostly used for meat production. However, there are attempt to produce milk, cheese and yogurt in some countries e. g. Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria etc, but on very limited scales. We are able to adopt the production system that is preferred by the contracting country.

Deer

Deer meat (venison) although a luxury delicatassen, has the potential to contribute to meat supply. If more attention is directed towards venison production, then a new venue will be opened to reducing the shortage in meat supply.
